In case you missed it: Gen. Perna, Dr.Slaoui, and Sec.Azar gave a press conference today giving an update on logistics planning for vaccine distribution, the timelines for it, and other questions. Lots of info in this.

Monthly vaccine allocation (nationwide):
December: +20m people vaccinated
January: +30m people vaccinated
February: +50m people vaccinated

This is just Moderna and Pfizer. Could be more depending on AZ and J&J trial results in January.

~100m by end of Feb.
-Efficacy results from AstraZeneca US trial and Johnson&Johnson trial likely by mid-January.
-All states will submit their micro-distribution plans to CDC by Friday
-In initial vax push, 6.4m doses of Pfizer vaccine will be distributed within 24hrs of approval. 12m for Moderna
-After initial 24 hour push following approval, there will be a continuous cadence of vaccines being distributed to states.
-Vaccines for Pfizer will arrive at distribution sites on December 15, Moderna will arrive on December 22.
One last thing: If you watch the press conference at the top of the video, it’s clear how much preparation has gone into distribution by our public health officials and the military. From dry-runs of distribution, to training, to transport etc. Pretty amazing and hopeful.
