When you promise young girls that they will find "The One" if only they pray hard enough, you're adding more spiritual + emotional damage than you realize.

I would know. I used to be that young girl who attended the camps and read the blogs.

It took a lot of unlearning and a bit of therapy to come to terms with the fact that romance is not a promise, relationships are not guaranteed, and prayer does not secure you a love story. And that's okay. God doesn't suddenly become less God if you don't get a husband.

My non conservative hot take is that God isn't too concerned about our love lives as he is with how we love people.
