Tomorrow is our final #FightTheCut Rally and now more than ever, your voice is needed!
The proposed Medicare Physician Fee Schedule for 2021 is calling for an estimated 9% decrease in payment for codes tied to Part B physical therapist services. The cut will do monumental damage—and it won't be limited to Medicare.
It's now up to Congress: CMS has finalized cuts, making it more important than ever to urge lawmakers to support H.R. 8702. The cuts proposed by CMS in 2019 will take effect Jan. 1, 2021, but a bill in Congress could offset the damage.
Here's what YOU can do to #FightTheCut:
1. Contact your representatives (yes, again!) using the email template on our website. (~1 minute) https://www.apta.org/advocacy/issues/medicare-physician-fee-schedule
2. Call your representatives and urge them to incorporate H.R. 8702 into the upcoming session. A pre-scripted call is available through the APTA website. (~5 minutes) https://www.apta.org/advocacy/issues/medicare-physician-fee-schedule
3. Post on your social media about why you #FightTheCut. Take a photo holding a piece of paper with the filled-in prompt "I #FightTheCut ______" and let people know why you are opposed to cutting funding for PT services. Be sure to tag @APTAStudents and @APTAtweets
And finally, be sure to join us for our final virtual rally to #FightTheCut, happening throughout the day on Thursday, December 3rd on the APTA website. https://www.apta.org/advocacy/issues/medicare-physician-fee-schedule/fightthecut-virtual-rally#gohere
