I’m so sick of people demanding redemption stories from mob who’ve been inside. People who have been incarcerated don’t owe you reform. We don’t owe you a cute backstory nor a triumphing over the odds tale.

Don’t ask us to bleed for you, cry for you, or suffer for our sins. Don’t make us beg for our humanity. Don’t expect us to be polite, to be quiet, to be contrite and to be grateful to be sharing space with you.

We have survived one of the most violent & deadly colonial frontiers in this country & we’re gonna take up space, we’re going to show up & speak up about the violence we endured so that no other family should endure the brutality of the criminal punishment system in this country.

Stand with us to do this work, stop adjudicating our worth based on your arbitrary indicators of humanity. Share your platform with us, weaponise your non-criminalised privilege, and hear us, make space for us because we can be brilliant and we can and will make a difference.
