NFL players take notice.

If you don’t move max speed within every 3 days leading up to game;

*soft tissue injury risk 👆
*you will loose coordination the faster you move in game
*you will move slower than previous game
*reaction speed 👇
*risk for cramps (neurological) 👆
So, “conditioning” won’t keep you ready for a game.

You have to do fast things- to do fast things safely and well.
Biggest thing players will say is they “felt foggy” or “something was off”

It was/ is their CNS
Some players look like they have been “conditioning” to stay ready with several days extended in game plan. It’s showing up on the field.

Even if you can’t sprint at home- you can still keep system ready
Making the body work harder in the last several days at 60% effort conditioning bouts is a smart way to mess things up imo . That work is best in 24-48 hours AFTER game
The closer athletes get to the game, the faster and more game specific they should move.

Week should look like this:
General to specific
Slow to fast
High volume to low volume
Heavy instruction to light instruction
Last thing on this particular rant.

Max Speed exposure could be as little as 2 reps. Don’t tell me you didn’t have time. It could literally finish your warmup
