The vaccine is absolutely brilliant science. It’s a real opportunity to end this pandemic. I’ll definitely be having it, and soon i hope. The reason MHRA have moved so quickly is that they’ve been doing interim analysis during the development process, so were one step ahead
It’s been through the same scrutiny as all other vaccines. A lot of the red tape has been cut, which has sped things up. 60,000 people have now died of Covid and I’ve witnessed scores first hand. Don’t forget over 50,000 people have already had the vaccine so we know the safety

Let’s not forget that vaccines have cured polio, smallpox, yellow fever, and nearly iradicated measles. All disease which regularly killed children throughout the last century. Measles unfortunately on the rebound, as is pertussis due to the anti vax movement.
So in terms of vaccine complications, they do exist but are very rare compared to number of doses given. Every years flu vaccine sees a few cases of Guillan Barre syndrome which can be very unpleasant. But it’s all relative risk. Risk of dying of covid is 1:100-1:1000 depending
On age group, and long covid is probably much more common although not fatal very debilitating. There’s also the risk of passing it to a more vulnerable family member, friend. Serious vaccine complications run at 1:200,000 to 1:1000,000 depending on the vaccine.
You take a similar risk when you take your first dose of a new antibiotic or other drug, and usually we balance the risks vs benefits. It will come down to individual choice of course and we shouldn’t force anyone to have it but it’s critical a majority take it to achieve the
All important herd immunity which protects those who can’t or won’t have the jab. Have a think. I have no hesitation. End
