I was as big a believer in Schwarbs as anyone, but his inability to evolve as a hitter is high on the list of reasons why the Cubs offense went into the tank so frequently over the last few years. Hope he can figure it out going forward.

And again, I like Schwarber... but what have been the complaints about the Cubs offense?
-Too many Ks
-hit into shift too often
-too many called 3rd strikes
-too reliant on HR to score

These are all areas where Kyle’s offensive game is emblematic of the team’s offensive issues.

A roster thats comprised differently would make Kyle a very useful part of a lineup. But as the Cubs have been constructed, there’s just too many guys like that in the lineup. And since he doesn’t offer much in the way of anything else, I get wanting to move on.
