Spoke to a Parkdale tenant, a Tibetan lady who's lived with her family on Jameson for nine years, who was denied bringing up the chronic disrepair issues in her unit at her LTB eviction hearing today, even though she got the evidence into the LTB well ahead of time.
Why was she denied this right? Because the LTB sustained her landlord's objection that he wasn't copied on what she submitted, despite the evidence being a pile of work orders and other material she has been submitting to the landlord for months.
After representing herself at her eviction hearing Kelsang was off to work a shift at her childcare job at a west-end school's childcare centre where she's employed as a casual.
