It's amusing now, of course, in light of Russia frenzy Psaki's party later whipped up. Of course the circumstances of the picture were innocent, but so were circumstances of Jeff Sessions' meet-and-greet in 2016, about which he and others were questioned by Mueller. 2/4

Instead of laughing it off, Psaki immediately reached for the laziest, most accusatory response: Anyone who passes on such 'misinformation' is 'simply a puppet of the [Russian] propaganda machine.' Really! 3/4

She could have said something like it's a rule in politics never to put on funny hats and mock-apologize for breaking it. But no -- she has to accuse anyone who tweets it of being a Russian puppet. Will she have a similarly light touch in the briefing room? 4/4 End.
