semi-rant: boy do i hate the "fixing people's art" youtube channels (unless it's with permission). there are so many artists where intentionally going against "artists rules" or whatever adds a lot of charm to their work and gives art identity
I get them recommended all the time and 9/10 times it goes from a drawing full of charm to something that is too template-y and too strict
working with your flaws is how you evolve it into signatures of your art style. do what you want with your art as opposed to doing what is the correct thing to do, tbh
This is a great tweet to add to this rant thread. If permission is involved and you're asking for help, neat. But I've seen some youtubers who don't ask for permission of the og artist and fix ppl's art and make money off of it and ???
also on top even with permission there is "fixing" someone's art and then there is teaching people tips about how to make art more pleasing to the human eye, incl calibrating monitors, or what techniques to use to achieve intended results
i'm not an authority of art, i just like to draw skeletons. just kinda want to see teachers on YT that focus on teaching and not inserting their own identity into works of others
anyway rant over lol
