another reason why mocking veganism isn’t the woke take you think it is: animal agriculture is one of top contributors to climate change. climate change directly impacts poorer areas FIRST. mocking a movement that is just trying to help isn’t cool.

yes, it’s 100% the fault of capitalism and greed in our society. but we have power. we can shift the demand to sustainable food products and we see examples of this everyday with more and more slaughterhouses and milk production companies closing down due to decreased demand.

vegan food, although not 100% exempt from environmental impact, are way easier on our planet to produce than cheese, beef, leather and more. take leather and milk for examples:

let’s look at the environmental impacts of a beyond burger vs a beef burger:
- it takes 660 gallons of water to produce just ONE burger
- according to multiple scientists, a vegan diet is one of the best diets you can adopt to fight climate change on an individual level.

no one is putting the blame on consumers, especially people who have to consume animal products bc of their unique circumstances, but the overwhelming majority of us that can help shift the demand to more sustainable, animal friendly products absolutely can help change the world.
