I just feel like most people are missing the point here, because what Obama is saying makes a lot of sense when you consider the situation on the ground. These people have representation in the Senate, in supreme court to make sure any police reforms never happen. It feels unfair but this is the way democracy works; democracy means everyone has a say in the way the country is governed, even the people who are rascist
Currently republicans control the Senate and have a majority in the Supreme court, meaning any bill to reform the police is going to need strong republican support so that it can pass. These are the 'people' Obama is referring to. It's a situation requiring delicacy and finesse
The problem that we have right now is people think that if they feel angry and shout really loudly, they are going to wake up the next day and things will be better. No one really has a plan
