New video by me and @MhehedZherting on Boris's £5 billion hydrogen fantasy.
It took a while to gather quite a lot of claims on hydrogen.

Hydrogen from electricity is completely uneconomic. Hydrogen from natural gas requires CCS.

CCS has been pimped by every government since Blair, and had hundreds of £millions chucked at it.

It still doesn't exist.
Many critical replies to the first video claimed that hydrogen is the answer to intermittency of wind energy. The surplus electricity could be turned into hydrogen, which could then be turned back into electricity when the wind drops.

This is insane.
A like-for-like, energy-equivalent replacement of natural gas with hydrogen from wind energy would require that the UK's wind farms be increased TWENTY times over.

And that's before we take into account intermittency.
Replacing natural gas heating with hydrogen from natural gas reformation and CCS at the minimum DOUBLES the UK's natural gas demand.

And fracking has been all but banned.

The Net Zero agenda is bonkers.
I've waded through endless volumes of verbiage about CCS and hydrogen.

It is extraordinary that so many people could have produced so many words, to such little effect, and to even less reflection on the failure. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-38687835
It's madder even than wind. And it's where no less of the future contribution to "net zero" comes from.

Yet it's much harder to turn into a short video, because the facts offered by its proponents, who insist it is necessary, are few and far between.

It really is a unicorn.
