I know I keep droning on about this, but the main point of Shared Ownership is to provide a private revenue stream for housing associations. Giving ppl the illusion of affordable homeownership is a politically expedient byproduct. SO residents are benefactors, not beneficiaries.
This is why SO should be as much anathema to the Tory party as it is to the opposition. It’s duping the least well-off cohort of homebuyers into becoming a stand-in for the welfare state
