I've seen a lot of talk about Josh Jung potentially getting the #Rangers 3B job at some point in 2021. Here's my #ProspectBreakdown of Jung.
College: Texas Tech
Drafted: Texas Rangers 1 round, 8th overall in 2019
6'2" 215LB
Bats/Throws: R/R

Breakdown⬇️
Hit Tool: 55

Jung is a very polished hitter who controls the strike zone well. He drives the ball well to all fields and focuses on hit>power. He has quick hands, but a sound approach and swing. Some scouts even grade his hit at 60.
Watch him turn on this inside pitch⬇️
Power: 55

Jung has natural power thanks to a strong lower half. He consistently barrels the ball with great bat speed. If he learns to pull the ball more aggressively, he could easily grow into 27-30 HR power.
Speed: 40

Jung is not the fastest runner, but he has shown the ability to steal bases, stealing 7 at Tech and 4 between 2 MILB levels(44 G) in 2019. I would not expect many steals long term though.
Field: 50 Arm: 55

Jung played 3B solely until splitting time between SS and 3B at Tech in 2019. He is more natural at 3B and has great instincts at the hot corner. He has a strong arm and reliable hands. 3B will be his pro home with the Rangers.
Josh Jung Outlook:
NCAA (191 Games): .348/.455/.577 33 HR/189 R/181 RBI/7 SB/128 BB/120 K
MILB (44G): .316/.389/.443 2 HR/23 R/28 RBI/4 SB/18 BB/32 K

Peak MLB Projection: .281/.363/.500 25 HR/80 R/85 RBI/3 SB

In deep draft and hold leagues, I would stash Jung for 2021.
