Happy Birthday Juice WRLD❤️

(THREAD)
Early Recognition:

Juice was one of the most unique and promising artists of the new generation. He came up in early 2018 after his hit single “Lucid Dreams” gained traction in the emo-rap community, which spread to the rest of the world.
The song debuted at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his first top 10 and highest selling track. On May 10th, 2018, Cole Bennett released a music video, which he filmed and directed, on his channel ‘Lyrical Lemonade’. As a result, Juice’s career absolutely skyrocketed.
Unique Sound:

Although he wasn’t an early pioneer, Juice played a predominant role in the popularization of the ‘emo-rap’ sub genre. From raps about heartbreak and betrayal, to issues with substance abuse and addiction, Juice evidently spoke to the world.
Even at a young age, he realized that the appeal for melodic/emo rap was at an all time high. With his addictive melodies and creative vision, he continued to refine his sound as months went by. Juice was able to make the entire world fall in love before releasing his debut album
Influences:

Juice worked in elements of rock, trap, pop, metal, and more into his music, which is why it stood out so much. He took his early rock influence from “Blink 182”, one of his favorite bands ever since he was a child.
True hip-hop legends played a huge role. His trap influence was from Future-a pioneer of the sub genre-who he looked up to in more ways than one. Much like the majority of the industry, Juice took influence from Kanye West, more specifically, his 2008 release, 808s & Heartbreak.
Discography:

Juice is well known for his incredible catalog of unreleased music, but his studio albums and EP’s are what really brought him to stardom. Goodbye & Good Riddance was his debut album, released on 5/23/2018. This project blew up as the hype around his singles was...
still prominent. Death Race For Love came soon after, on 3/8/2019. Two incredible projects in the span of one year. Prior to these, J had his ‘Juiced Up the EP’ & “999 EP’, further proving the strength of his discography.
So, happy 22nd birthday to one of my all time favorite artists. Thank you Juice for saving my life, your music was there for me when I was at my lowest, when no one else was. I’ll forever be grateful for you & your work. Miss you more everyday💔
I could write an entire book about Juice WRLD and his life, but I can only do so much on Twitter. A much more detailed thread is going to come out on 12/8/2020.
