(4/6) Secondly, while it is true that the scum who run this industry were doing so before Romania's EU Ascension, the opening of borders supercharged it. I hope Britain will be able to do far more after 1 January. Borders matter in this sense, and we must make ours tighter.

(5/6) Thirdly, Romania is as massively corrupt as I had imagined, and its judiciary is obviously pervaded with immoral, venal officers unfit for purpose. Strangely, we hear little about this, while being bombarded with the supposed horrors of Poland and Hungary. @Phillip_Blond

(6/6) Finally, what does this say about us as a civilisation? Whether it be the grooming gangs across Britain, or the mass kidnap and enslavement of Romanian women, when did we stop caring for and protecting young women? It's sickening: we should be disgusted with ourselves.
