Yeah I saw this one coming. Surprisingly, the soundtrack of Rent is actually the most impactful music of all year. Rent was supposed to be my musical in March. I absolutely jammed to the soundtrack because let's face it, the music is absolutely fucking amazing. I popped off
harder than any Smash reveal by finding out that our musical was Rent. The musical is always revealed after our final performance of our fall play, so there's always a large crowd in the lobby. There's a video of everyone popping the fuck off after the announcement. Shit was
going so well. The show was gonna be amazing. We were all pumped. Then COVID happened. We were shut down a week before we were supposed to perform. It devastated me. Not being able to perform this show we worked so hard on as well as not being able to say a proper goodbye to the
seniors who I'm friends with before they went off for college was one of the worst feelings. My life went instantly from one of my highest points to my lowest point. I kept listening to the Rent soundtrack to cope with all this confusing shit happening, and also because the music
is from a time that's insanely similar to the times we're living in now. You all should definitely listen to the soundtrack of Rent. First off, the music is filled with absolute bangers, and if you're into rock n roll, you'll love it. Second, it perfectly shows the frustration of
2020, and the need for us to come together in these horrible times. It also has themes of poverty, and how the rich will always oppress the less well off, and that we shouldn't let that happen. Also, tons of LGBT representation in the show despite being written in the 90's, there
is literally something for everyone. Holy fuck I'm sorry I love gushing about this show it's so awesome. Thread over I guess, idk.
