A commitment to permanent funding for childcare is forward movement on a #FeministRecovery essential. Support for childcare workforce & retention of Indigenous childcare workers is also good news. 50 years after the Royal Commission, are we finally #DoneWaiting for childcare?
Will the #FiscalUpdate lead to more investments in the social sector, especially charities and non-profits? They continue to provide essential safety net programs and support, and this women-majority employment sector needs sector stabilization.
The plan also promises to be #intersectional and green. In recognizing the effects of the pandemic on women workers, the Task Force for Women in the Economy must prioritize restoring the jobs of those hit hardest – women, racialized folks, and young women. #BuildBackBetter
