there's six days left to apply for this job @shefmethods about the impact of covid on the cultural sector with me, @SocSciMcAndrew, and @DrDaveOBrien, working with @valuingculture and @CreativePEC. some notes on the job in this brief thread... https://jobs.shef.ac.uk/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hrrcf_a_posting_apply?PARAM=cG9zdF9pbnN0X2d1aWQ9NUZCQjZEMjNERDA2MTg5NUUxMDAwMDAwQUMxRTg4NzgmY2FuZF90eXBlPUVYVA%3d%3d&sap-client=400&sap-language=EN&sap-accessibility=X&sap-ep-themeroot=%2fSAP%2fPUBLIC%2fBC%2fUR%2fuos#
the main part of the job is analysing large secondary survey datasets - primarily the labour force survey, @usociety, and the business impact of covid survey - to see what's happened in the cultural sector. either stata or r's fine (other software might be as well)
you might have a background in the sociology of culture, cultural policy, etc, but you don't have to - the most important thing's comfort with this sort of analysis. we can get you up to speed with the substantive material!
it's not a project where we work for a year preparing papers which then emerge a year later; we'll be writing shorter, public- and policy-facing documents, more frequently. we'll also be aiming to make the analysis as transparent as possible, such as through public Git repos.
my DMs remain open. if you've got a background in survey data, and you're new to the cultural sector / your background's in the quants of cultural consumption, but you're new to cultural labour / some other combination, DM me! job deadline is Tuesday
