Here's a poetry template for a small poem:

Image with anthropomorphizing.

Thing you want/don't want/hate/like.

Rhetorical question/statement that references the past or your childhood.

Bring back the thing from the opening

Final line(s) that includes all three things.
And here's an example using the above that took a couple of minutes to write. I do stuff like this when I want to write but am not sure what; it's a fun warmup exercise that's sometimes also generative.
You can create a whole poem like this, threading the opening image, the emotional vehicle created by desire, and the tension of the past into a series of stanzas that ladder into each other, ending the poem when the desire is somehow resolved or obliterated.

Have a nice day!
I hate that I feel this impulse to say this BUT for my peace of mind: this is not how you *should* write poems, it's not how I write all my poems, this is an exercise, it may not be for you, if you hate this I promise I don't need to know about it. Love to all! <3
