If a journalist sees an armed robbery in progress, is the appropriate action to call the police? Or just write about the mortally wounded store owner afterward because calling the police would be getting involved in the story?
This is similar to what's going on right now. Lots of Trump apologists are complaining that news outlets are not giving his ridiculous lies about the election equal weight with the actual facts on the ground.
The truth is, Trump and his enablers continue their assault on our democracy itself. They are literally trying to steal the election he lost. His recently pardoned national security adviser yesterday advocated he declare martial law.
If as a journalist you are "both-sidesing" this, you are failing your audience.
