1. Am not one for long tweets but a friend of mine in his 20s just got diagnosed of colon cancer. Got me thinking hard, we certainly have an epidemic. @SibandaSibbs
My limited understanding tells me both environmental and genetic causes contribute cancers and environmental causes can cause a big jump in incidence eg there was a jump in cancer cases in japan 🇯🇵 post hiroshima
On our case my mind got fixated on the environment and started to think about many issues. First we have companies still using banned chemicals in their production cycle and some even dumping them in the waste system and we all know at some point that ends up in ourdrinking wtr
I remember some time when @TembaMliswa contronted some organisation about dumping liquid waste onto water bodies, i witnessed the same at some company..arent those some of the carcinogens contributing to our current environmental epidemic
By now i would expect the min of health to come out and shout that we have a problem but nobody seems to be moved. By now we shld be having our sharpest minds trying to determine what really changed in our lives bringing with it this scourge
And even if it isnt the water i long for a day where noone is above the law and wont just dump stuff into the evironment without consequencies. Also long for proper leadership focused at tackling our actual challenges not some who create some nonexistent ones and solve those.
But am still perplexed is it our drinking water, vit d deficiency, shift to fatty diets. Hope our sharpest medical minds will provide leadership on this @nmaboreke
