oh dear - @fotoole you are mistaken on what has been at issue. It is not that 'very many feminists' regard transwomen as upholding objectifying standards of feminine beauty (I think that was your implication?) https://twitter.com/fotoole/status/1333677594659729408
the issue has been that very few feminists in the UK - who have had large media platforms have wanted transwomen not merely excluded from women only spaces (such as public bathrooms --dwell on that) but even excluded from the category of 'woman'.
further issues include that these feminist voices have been amplified by well-intentioned uninformed pro-feminist men and by ill-intentioned informed anti-feminist men and funded by right wing US groups such as the Heritage Foundation. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/07/opinion/terf-trans-women-britain.html
-what is currently at stake in Ireland is a right wing funded 'LGB Alliance' seeks to recruit to its cause here - to remove the 'T' from LGBT. They have attacked @BeLonG_To and have been called out by the @NWCI and @AmnestyIreland among others https://twitter.com/DavidPaisley/status/1222999786749558789?s=20
