Our grotesque recipe for road violence:

We don't have any proper infrastructure for people outside the car. 1/
We build our vehicles so big we can't see people outside the car. 2/
We advertise and market our vehicles for speed and recklessness. 3/
Our culture celebrates the fastest and most powerful vehicles and ridicule everything else. 4/
We politicize any type of movement outside of the car, and package up any voices that want safer streets as some radical anti-car position.
5/
Our enforcement teams use shockingly light content to communicate our murderous roads...absolutely grotesque and so so harmful 6/ https://twitter.com/tomflood1/status/1323252880707563521?s=20
Our enforcement teams and leadership's brilliant strategy for vulnerable road users is to wear arm bands instead of making any real change (and blame them if they don't) Spineless, put it on the kids - great take. 7/
This is no accident, this is willful negligence.
