here’s a handy guide to supporting artists in the hell year we are having;

spotify/tidal etc - $0.0038-0.0125 per stream. no real support for 99.9% of artists.

bandcamp - streams aren’t paid. artists receive 85+% of sales minus paypal fee.

merch - always the best. go direct.
soundcloud - artists can’t claim royalties unless they have a ‘pro’ account. if you don’t see the tick they aren’t getting paid. $0.0025-0.004 per stream.

youtube - if it’s an official video or audio then around $0.0017 per stream. but often nothing from user uploaded videos.
@ampl3d - direct monthly support for independent artists on a platform owned by artists. 100% of $ (minus payment fees) goes to artists in 2020.

@resonatecoop - a fair & equitable ‘stream-to-own’ model.

patreon - monthly support. artists receive 88-95% minus payment fees.
with all this said - THANK YOU for listening to music, any way that you can. this isn’t intended to shame anyone for streaming, rather to lay the numbers out there for people that are unaware how criminally low the royalty rates are. buy merch & digital if you can, then stream!
