For anyone who might be realising they are/were wrong re trans kids... just know that many of us were there once.
We know it's really hard.
If you have any questions or want to talk in circles processing it, I'm here. It's not your fault you were manipulated and lied to.

Especially public figures who may have unquestioningly said something you weren't sure about. This was on purpose. That pressure is very real.
Nobody is going to blame you. We might laugh a bit, but really, we are mostly glad to have you back.

It's perfectly understandable that you'll be struggling with your perception of yourself. There's a big grieving period of "how did I not see this"?
The main thing is that you saw it. Now, we fix it.

You'll also inevitably be love-bombed by the culture warriors on here. But question that too. A big thread has been pulled around your world view, and it'll take some time. You'll bounce around for a while. But, do an audit of your core values and work from that. You'll be okay.
It will be tempting to start participating in SJW-baiting (because they're fucking ridiculous/hilarious) and think the MAGAs are your friends in this. They're probably not. But that's not my call. Figure it out for yourself.
Once you have that thread pulled on one issue with Wokism, you'll go through various stages. All of this is normal. Just sit back, be curious. Read the (preferably not American) texts you were told were forbidden and make up your mind.
Initially, focus on behaviour rather than ideas.
Ask:
Is my *behaviour* in line with my values, irrespective of belief?
Do I feel *good* about my conduct? Or is it a yucky temporary dopamine high from destroying what may be a clueless kid?

Then figure out your line. Example, I let people get to see both the smartarse comic side AND the serious side. They're often in conflict, but I am a contradictory person. So I make my intentions clear, which is to laugh at silliness and just work through it and be honest.
For me, honesty is everything. I am not afraid of looking silly, and not afraid of being wrong or misspeaking in the spirit of getting to the truth.
Figure out what your values are and start from that place.
And try to learn why you didn't see it, so next time, you do.

And I cannot emphasise enough that a lot of these hot button issues are largely Astroturf movements. Troll farms and "influencer marketing" etc have been weaponised for division and chaos and disinformation. Learn to spot that. It's pretty easy.
Re-engage with any family or friends you shed along the way. They love you, and I am sure would love to hear from you. Then, don't let social media replace authentic, face-to-face conversations with people you love.
And don't treat people you love like there's a block button.

Also, welcome to the Culture Wars. It's a crazy, bizarre, fulfilling, hilarious, messy and sometimes incredibly stressful ride.
But, welcome. Here's your ID card and a voucher for $1 off at your local bar. You're gunna need it.
