sorry folks i am really Thinking about linhardt and how we know fuck all about him and how thats exactly what he wants
like. the only concrete canon info we have about his background is
-hes been friends with caspar since age 6
-his dad hates caspars dad
-his mom was overbearing
-hes an only child
THATS IT. im almost certain we know nothing else abt his specific backstory

but theres some SHIT in there!! we know theres some shit!! he tells thea this! and normally the support would pause so he could turn to the audience and lay out his trauma for us all to see, but he just moves right past it. boom. thats it.
(if lines like these were in another support chain, theyd be said by a character who talks about their trauma a lot, so that repeating it again would be redundant. i can picture lys or bernie saying this offhand the way lin does, bc as the audience we know their deal already)
why doesnt he go into it? bc despite being honest to a fault, lins a SUPER private person. many of his ending cards have him staying out of the limelight
+more, also his solo ending has his research published posthumously (why wouldnt he publish them while alive and get the glory?), and i believe in jpn the caspar ending is more explicit with the idea that lin left a lot of details out to keep it private
(i wouldnt be surprised if there were lines in his supports that tie into him being private, i just cant remember any off the top of my head)
TLDR we know absolutely NONE of linhardts trauma and he wants it that way because even being a blunt rude bitch hes more reserved than every other character in this game. incredible.
alternative tldr: *slaps roof of linhardt* this bad boy can fit so much projected trauma in him (what, are you gonna tell me its not canon? prove it.)
