alr so there’s a lot of debate about Dream and what he’s done and shit and wether he should be cancelled or not and here’s my take on what I believe I’m allowed to have an opinion on and what not

1. The stream today was absolutely not worth being cancelled over. Y’all have to learn that some poc/other ethnicities have no problem making jokes about it with their non friends. If that isn’t for you, that’s okay, but don’t assume it isn’t for everyone else. It was harmless
2. Dream should definitely be held responsible for any actions and not be babied, however is it upsetting seeing how afraid he is (and others) of twt. Y’all have got to do better with what you attack people for, esp if it’s not your place.
3. Cancel culture is stupid. Plain and simple. Some people do really deserved to be ‘cancelled’ but it’s a meaningless word now bc y’all tried to cancel Quackity for speaking Spanish 
4. I do believe Dream is ND, correct if I am wrong. I know the R slur is in fact a slur and shouldn’t be used by anyone who isn’t ND. I don’t have a rightful opinion, but with what I know, there shouldn’t be a problem with it esp if he apologized - right? (If you are pls lmk)
5. Yes, he is friends with people who are.. yeah. No excuse. But once again y’all are attacking HIM ONLY and not everyone else who is also friends with them. In fact y’all spend more time on him then the actual people.
6. Dream has shown growth and has admitted to what he’s done wrong, which is the point of cancel culture anyway - to call out actions and hope for an apology. The problem is people don’t let other people grow anymore, or educate themselves, they go straight to canceling
7. the slave thing - I honestly don’t believe his intention was to be racist but it’s more about the effect than the intention. I don’t know which community exactly found it offensive (I’ve seen black and Jewish since the villages have sterotypical Jewish features) but I’m not +
8. Clear about the entire situation so. Idk if he apologized or not or if it was a big deal on here either. It kinda seems like it was taken out of context but no opinion until I know fs
9. I honestly believe if you call Dream him for anything he will apologize or educate himself or something. A lot of his friends are very educated (not all!!) and do the same. But you don’t give anyone the time and space anymore.
10. People are fucking human and they will make mistakes and they will slip it. It’s impossible to be educated about everything. But it’s entirely possible to educate yourself about what’s wrong and that’s what he’s been doing.
11. poc, minorities of any kind : don’t take this thread or anything else as something that says you cannot call him or others out for shit. That is 100 percent okay! I do it myself, And I will continue too. +
12. Yet at the same time you have to let who you’re calling out GROW and understand what you’re saying. Attacking them only makes you more vulnerable to demonic stans coming after you so pls be careful there too, and makes you seem like your looking for a reason (it sucks, ik)
13. Until then, continue to call him out and explain what you need too. I will never try and strip that right away from anyone. Remain mindful of what you’re saying and accusing of, bc if it’s not what it looks to be, your scot free but he isn’t.
14. IF he does continue to make the same mistakes, then guess what? Not your fault and good on you for calling him out early. If he doesn’t, good on you for educating him and calling him out. You’re not in the wrong either way. Don’t let anyone say so.
15. To sum this up : cancel culture is very performative, nit picky, and stupid overall. Dream doesn’t have a clean record but a respectable one of apologizing and educating. You have a right to be upset. +
16. If there is still anything he hasn’t cleared up, then continue to tell him so if you want him to know. Give people chances to grow. + stop nit picking who you call out and attack
end of thread. Feel free to reply or dm me with your take, I’m completely open to anything esp if you have been personally hurt by anything. I have no intention of invalidating anyone so please let me know if I am. I’m a strong believer in growth, and that’s all I can say:
ALSO ONE MORE THING if you are poc or ND or if there’s something I missed please just tell me the general idea of it and I’ll research it myself. You don’t have to explain it to me when you’ve probably done so many times before, I know how frustrating it is
