That Whole Foods CEO leech argued on Joe Rogan’s podcast that greed is just a part of human nature, so attempts to reign in greed are bound to fail and create worse outcomes. This is straight up fallacious. ->
It could just as easily be argued that murder is a part of human nature, so maybe it would be best if we just allowed murder to happen and let the winners take all, and if you die, that’s “personal responsibility”. You should’ve defended yourself better! /s ->
It’s a naturalistic fallacy or is/ought fallacy. Just because greed is “natural” doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make an effort to reign it in if we can agree on some level that greed is harmful. Just argue that “greed is good” instead, and it would be less fallacious. ->
The fact of the matter is, there is no absolute “human nature”. We can change. We change all the time. We can influence our own change as a species. That’s kinda just one of the cool things about being conscious.
