I think one of the big lessons here is to not deride people so much!! It is okay to think your theory of change is better than someone else's, but there was no call to go "Silicon Valley has invented the wheel" at genuine innovations.
Even if you were more optimistic about political progress on those issues than looks warranted today, the people trying to solve everything with technology were never your enemy.
One claim you'd see a lot: the focus on tech solutions will distract from political ones. But this was said even when the focus on tech solutions was much smaller than the focus on political solutions, and when no amount of "focus' produced genuine results in the political sphere
