Sharing because I hope it might(🤞🏻) spark some good ideas, & to hold ourselves accountable: Our giving plan for the next year is to match our "non-essential" spending (fast food, books/movies, toys, streaming services, etc) with a (hopefully semi-related) donation
(up to a certain % of our annual income; the same % we use for our Christmas budget.) So if for example we buy ourselves a pizza for $5.30, we'd make a donation of $5.30 to a mutual aid fund, food bank, or hunger-related @GiveWell-recommended org
I often feel really stressed about donations because I feel like it has to be a huge lump sum, which we can't ever afford (Seriously 98% of our income goes to rent + utilities, that's not an exaggeration lol) but this helps me remember we still can afford to give a little 🙏🏻
