Well I the people have spoken so here comes a thread/1 https://twitter.com/yellowlantern19/status/1332895845331718146
Neoreactionary (NRx) a revival of thought originating from the Internet from blogger Curtis Yarvin (aka Mencius Moldbug) on the blog Unqualified Reservations. In which he examines how society and power function contrary to what you’re taught in schools and pop culture /2
Taking concepts from reactionary thinkers like Thomas Carlyle and Jospeh de Mastre, Moldbug gives a diagnosis of how power is actually working in the US and the rest of the free world and offers critiques and examinations of democracy, sovereignty, religion, etc. /3
Perhaps the most used concept he came up with is something called “The Cathedral”. Basically a decentralized atheistic theocracy that includes institutions such as the universities, the media, Hollywood, etc, that act as society’s consensus maker. /4
The Cathedral operates from a Protestant framework but its religion is not Christianity but progressivism. A predator religion that both bypasses the “separation of church and state” and is able to hollow out institutions and take over anything due to its informal power /5
The last 20-40 years has seen the increasing visibility of this informal ruling system that nudges society and the elites uses things like manipulation of language, culture, procedural outcomes and other levers of power to get the desired outcomes they want at your expense /6
In fact one of the last thing he wrote “Technology, Communism & the Brown Scare” Moldbug notes the constant naming of things people don’t like as “fascist” happens because America has become a communist country not in economic terms but in a spiritual sense. Which leads me to /7
The concept of Biological Leninism by the blogger Spandrell (who blocked me and a lot of others for a really bad take).
Anyways, this is currently the ruling formula in which the current elites sustains themselves and why society feels like it’s getting more leftist overtime /8
Anyways, this is currently the ruling formula in which the current elites sustains themselves and why society feels like it’s getting more leftist overtime /8
In his 3 part essay, Spandrell argues that the way Leninism works is that it takes the loyalty aspect of feudalism and the efficiency of liberalism to create a part system that offers high status to groups that are low status in exchange for loyalty to the Party /9
In the Russian Revolution, these low status groups were people like workers, peasants, laborers and even the non Russian ethnic groups like Latvians, Poles, Ukrainians, Yiddish, and basically others who had grievances against the Tsar and the Russian royal aristocratic class /10
Lenin comes in and wipes out the aristocracy to create a new ruling class based on the previously lowest members of the old hierarchy with a complete revolt and brutal civil war that had every lasting consequences to this day. /11
