just saw a tweet laughing about “spiritual manipulation” & honestly it is a thing, it is very real. I always warn people when getting into spirituality, not to just trust any and everyone especially when it comes to spirituality.
some people can have very ill intentions, and will take advantage of the fact that they have knowledge that you wish to seek. always be very cautious of who you choose as your “mentor” this can be so important in spiritual development.
this happened to me during my spiritual awakening, the person I thought I could trust was the last person I should’ve trusted. It took years to unlearn what they had taught me, and learn my own truths. I literally would never wish that on my worst enemy, so please, be cautious.
it’s vital that you get to discover yourself out, on your own. you learn your truths, discover and remember who you are. It’s really hard to do, and almost blinding when someone else does it entirely for you, directing where your beliefs are and what not.
“being” there for you, “praying” for you, sharing information, “teaching magic”, gaining trust, lifting you up, yet their intentions may not be entirely pure. it’s best you learn these on your own or learn with a friend you deeply know you can trust.
