Problem with the idea of the Lions blowing it up and trading Stafford is that you had your chance to draft Tua or Herbert last year and didn't do it. Lions might finish with enough wins to be out of position to get a top prospect. Then what do you do?
If you don't have an elite QB, you take opportunities to get one even if that means passing on players to build around the flawed QB you have. But you don't move on without another option
Good rule that you shouldn't trade away a QB who immediately would easily be the most coveted available unless you just drafted one in the top 10.
