black ppl took the n slur for themselves then suddenly every other minority decided that every slur on earth can and should be reclaimed as if its some cool secret club sorry you will never have a shred of the sense of unity black people get from the n slur
"only x people can say this slur" "only y people can say this slur" how about we just stop saying slurs for no reason whatsoever. you have no reason to reclaim a slur for your identity. black people were branded with the n word against our will by white people
yeah im a d*ke but that doesnt mean i specifically associate that word as the definition of my identity when lesbian exists. you see the difference? black people had no alternative. the n slur was painted onto signs by the government when segregating black ppl
black people had no choice but to reclaim the word because it was fucking /solidified/ within basic speech of white people
so maybe be kinder to people when they have the basic, easy, effort free request, to not be referred to with a slur even if said person is """"allowed""" to say it. god forbid people want this. oh jeez its the end of the world! impossible!!
maybe if you stopped looking at the n slur as some kind of cool secret club that you wish you could be a part of, then youd realize how stupid you look constantly trying to find an alternative to the word through your own marginalized identity
sorry to rant im just so sick and tired of people still to this day in 2020 getting pressed over people innocently suggesting we not use a slur as an umbrella term for the entire LGBT community
and just the obsession that people online have with slurs in the first place tbqh
since this seems to be gaining traction i feel like i have to clarify for some reason that i dont give a fuck if you wanna reclaim some slur just stop forcing the label onto other people. this should be fucking obvious lol
black people using the n word to refer to other black people is not the same as LGBT ppl using queer to refer to other LGBT ppl
i used d*ke as an example for myself because i am a lesbian and i feel no need to use that word to identify myself nor do i think it appropriate for me to call other lesbians d*kes just because i "can"
if other lesbians want to use the word to identify themselves thats fine and i respect that! i also respect the fact that not everyone wants to be called a d*ke, even if the word is coming from another lesbian.
