I attended day 1 of @amadigital Marketing Festival & best conference I’ve attended so far – so much to absorb, brilliant networking, inspiring sessions & exactly the injection of motivation I needed. Perfect way to kick off my larger role at @mortalfoolsuk
I attended sessions on leading through change, “you said Black Lives Matter, now what?” & on changing audience behaviours and attitudes. Each session was super interesting & interactive!
Key take aways that I thought I’d share –
1. Language is the architecture of meaning – your language choice is so important & constantly evolving.
2. You need to circle back – social change & growth never stops & the work is never done.
3. You’re either in the game or you’re not – NOW is the time for proactivity & doing.
4. Silence is safety for a lot of big orgs & their staff often feel disempowered within the structure. Silence is not ok or good enough.
5. That the cultural sector are using digital myths as fact – 2020 has shown that digital can be a way to engage new audience & encourage discovery AND digital audiences are more diverse than in person.
6. Performance & activity being on demand is more important to audiences that things being “live” & in real time.
7. The younger the audience, the more likely they are to pay for online content & value it.
Can’t wait for day two!
