I know people like this enact a lot of violence on others and I also think framing this as “homophobes are secretly gay, LMAO” is harmful to the LGBTQ+ community by washing away the internalized conflict around sexuality that we are taught and implying that homophobia = gay
Essentially, you’re making the punchline “the person is gay.” It doesn’t matter how horrible they are, or whether or not they’re actually gay, that’s the punchline here.
