I have an increasing amount of folks reaching out to ask 'what sneaker bot should I get'. The answer is not so simple because the good ones are very hard to get and can be very expensive (they have resale too -- retail is usually a couple hundred and many now have a SaaS model).
If you want to get into the bot life then I'd suggest getting into a Discord group that will let you see the breadth of what's out there before you make the leap. Or you can take the plunge by buying a bot from @BotBroker_io -- every bot has its own Discord with a community.
If you want sneakers but are striking out on footsites and Nike and don't want to mess with bots then a slot service is probably more what you're looking for. Check out @RSVPKINGZ which I've used and is great. https://rsvpkingz.com/products
Quick ref:
Solid cook groups: @CarbonMonitors and the organic but very young and rough @BotRtx)
Great bots: @Cybersole @PrismAIO @EveAIO @Dashe @Splashforcebot
Great group for Entrepreneurs and resellers: In This Economy https://www.patreon.com/TBlakesPatreon
Oh and ALL of these communities are built on @discord, of course.
And for the other side, follow @jmwind -- Shopify CTO and sparring partner for the entire bot industry
Oh another couple notes. Resellers already have their own inventory systems - the ecosystem is expanding outward to service its own needs (scout is from the botbroker crew) https://twitter.com/scoutapp_ai/status/1259726101137387523?s=20
Also, like many other industries, sneaker reselling (and PS5s and Xbox and Nvidia cards) has seen a massive boost from the fact that there are less places to buy these things at retail and that channel inventory is going online where time-to-purchase is measured in milliseconds.
A lot of the big individual resellers actually get large lots at several basis points above wholesale and then place them in the resale market overseas where demand is high for US releases. That's harder when physical channels dry up. Hence bots surging.
I think it's also worth noting costs here if you're looking for profit:

Bot: $300-$3,000 (lol) + $150/yr or more
Proxies: $75/mo
Server to run bot w/proxies: $20/mo
Cook Group: $50/mo
Time: A lot to learn, and ongoing to set up for each release.

Not for the faint of heart.
And, of course, with all of the above there is zero guarantee of success. You could end up with zero pairs. You're fighting tens of thousands of other bots, "real" checkouts, bot protection efforts and the raw latency of the Internet.
For every "W!" tweet there are thousands of Ls.
