i saw something that was like “i ordered dans book but he hasn’t done as much promo as i wanted and he’s silent again so i want my money back” please imagine saying that sentence in the context of any other (“normal”) authors work

“i ordered this authors book but i didn’t get to see their pretty face on social media enough and they didn’t post as much funny and engaging stuff as i would’ve liked so i cancelled my order” ?????

because dan has never explicitly said “i am not a youtuber/not as into social media as i once was” people are still thinking of him as like a social media guy and are gonna forever be confused and bitter when he behaves differently than he has in the past

a lot of people on here just need to expand their thinking and recognize that he’s clearly not like a “youtuber/social media person” (idk if the word influencer applies here) at the moment and isn’t gonna tweet/engage with his followers like he is trying to do that
