whenever deadnaming comes up, I always think of how Howard Cosell apologized to Muhammad Ali—on broadcast television!—for referring to him by his birth name. this was almost 60 years ago. how hard can it be?
I understand that transitioning and converting to Islam and taking a new name are not the same, but it’s an ancient example of someone saying “call me this now” and someone else being professional and kind enough to simply respond “sorry, yep, you got it.”
of course, now deadnaming becomes part of a rote pattern of dishonesty, where one deadnames, is told not to, and then goes on to blame “the censorious SJW toxic mobs with pronouns in their bios.” pathetic losers, all.
