How this Abhinav Prakash is a professor really confuses me. Because he consistently posts duplicitous, deceptive, and one-sided information solely in the interest of the ruling party; and then masquerades it as genuine intellectual inquiry. https://twitter.com/Abhina_Prakash/status/1333796216774172674
All it took me was a few searches to bunk this stupid angle he’s trying to push (and I’m doing this on lunch break - he gets paid for this crap?)

First of all - the movement did NOT just get traction solely from BKU. It is a grassroots movement that has the support of various...
...kisaan unions across Punjab, Haryana (and now other states), and even the support of farmers who did not traditionally have an ideological alignment with any Kisaan unions.

Secondly - this attempted “gotcha” at BKU (Mann) is extremely stupid.
Different folks have different opinions on the Mandis and APMC. Some see them as inherently problematic and have to be reformed - some say they’re a good idea that needs reform - yet others view them as essential facets that must be expanded.
I’m not going to argue anything here, this isn’t my domain. But BKU-Mann, for whatever reason - has had a consistent view of (1) - mandis are inherently bad, need for a national market, repeal APMC.
NOTHING has changed in their stance for political gains the way this @Abhina_Prakash clown is trying to say. In fact, when the bills were passed - the president of BKU even said he was happy and prematurely praised Modi for abolishing the Mandi setup. https://twitter.com/BKU_KisanUnion/status/1307650075770855424
Whatever BKU’s political goals are (remember, they’re one of SEVERAL unions who have mobilized) - their main concern with Modi’s bills is not them in entirety but with the lack of guarantees for MSP. And that’s consistent with their past stance as well.
It takes a special flavor of idiot to try and focus in on solely ONE of the kisan unions (ignoring others) involved to try and trump up their political stance and even fail at that; yet Professor @Abhina_Prakash has done that beautifully. I’ll give you a C- for effort.
While hordes of Prakash’s brainless followers now ascend upon BKU’s tweet from last year, quote tweeting it in a drunken assurance that their professor has EXPOSED the stupid Congressi farmer, let them do that. But for those of us who prefer genuine engagement:
Nothing wrong with honest disagreements and debates over motives. But do NOT fall for these cheap tricks that are basically the media ecosystem’s attempt to keep throwing different types of mud at the farmers’ protest until something sticks.
On that topic: our brilliant professor in his zeal to distract has also shared a COMPLETELY FALSE statistic about number of deaths in militancy. Guess who made up this stat? The political opposition of the BJP - the now reviled Congressi Amarinder. https://twitter.com/Abhina_Prakash/status/1333819733079072768
Even worse is that these RW idiots don’t realize the false statistic that they’re now sharing so eagerly was an ACTUAL example of Congress playing political games - trying to paint themselves as more pro-Hindu than Arun Jaitley & the Punjab BJP 😂🤣 https://twitter.com/AndColorPockeT/status/1333803217822437377
