I missed last week for reasons I don't really want to discuss. But this week? This week, we're back.
Packers Week 12 passing concept thread let's gooooooooooooooo
Let's kick things off with a favorite: All-Go HB Seam. Bears fall under the vertical routes, so Rodgers checks down to Lazard in the flat.
Getting the ball in the hands of the jet motion man in space is exactly the kind of role Tavon Austin can do.
We'll look at some crossers. 3rd & 7. Clear out the right with a go route & out from Adams in the slot. Have Tonyan push up vertically then put Lazard underneath. Really nice finish to this.
Bears had Mack mugging over Linsley and Linsley was having NONE OF IT.
Worked well the first time, so they ran it back, this time on 3rd & 4. Defender playing off Lazard this time, so the route from Tonyan doesn't work as a wall. With the line pushing back, Rodgers simply runs to a wide open space.
Bears fall back into zone. Lewis sits in the middle of the field and Adams gets lost in the wash. Trevathan tries to pick him up, but it's too late by that point. Easy 11 yards on 2nd & 8.
Adams running a little fake-pick/fade from the right slot. Rodgers is looking for that to open up, but Mack beats Turner around the edge, so he just kind of gingerly picks his way through the line.
Here's the Lewis TD. Fake block/release from Lewis. Packers have been doing a decent bit of this over the last few weeks.

Check the pre-snap alignment from Lazard; lined up behind and to the inside of Lewis. On this one, he's blocking down.
Alignment look similar? This time it's EQ behind Lewis. Fake block/release. Lewis trying to draw defenders to the boundary to create space for EQ. Bears recover, but I like the idea.
Saw this alignment 3 times this past weekend. Be prepared to see more in the coming weeks.
Pre-snap read sees Adams with 10 yards from his man defender. Easy completion that picks up 15 yards.
8 yards cushion pre-snap, throw to Adams for 7 yards.
Clearing out the middle for Adams on the slant. Adams cooks Skrine - naturally - but slips out of the break.
Bears milling around before the snap, not really showing their coverage. They fall back into Tampa 2 at the snap, which helps to cover up the initial routes.
No one panics. Rodgers stays in the pocket & Adams finds a spot.
Get those cookies.
Just a tiny little coverage thing for those who don't know. Cover 2 (Left) shell is essentially two deep safeties. The weak spot is in the deep middle, between the dropping safeties.

Tampa 2 drops a linebacker into the deep middle to cover that particular weakness.
Go on the outside, out from Adams in the slot. Defender is backing up, hit Adams for 8 yards on 1st & 10. It's not a huge gain, but these are the plays that help the offense stay ahead of the sticks and be able to keep in the offense they want to be in.
Go on the outside, out from Lazard in the slot. 8 yards on 2nd & 10.
Mirrored Smash Fade. Packers love this concept. Lazard is in the right slot. The fade is supposed to be run a little more to the sideline, but Lazard cuts more up the seam.
The result? An incomplete pass that looks like a miss. To me, it really just looks like a miscommunication on the route.
MVS helps clear the middle, opening space for EQ on the reverse-pivot back inside. EQ gets the ball in his hands then does EQ things.
"Hey EQ. We're going to get you on a dig against Skrine. Just win."
58 is looking to bat the ball, so Rodgers stares down the left before whipping the ball to EQ in the middle.
Bears in a two-high look. They get Adams isolated in the deep middle against Skrine. Skrine is able to stick with him down the field.
Rodgers goes over the top, but they can't quite connect.
4th & 2. Tonyan motions before the snap, but no one follows, so it's looking like zone. It's unclear what the man across from him is doing, but it's a two-on-two look on the outside.
Man across from Tonyan blitzes, Lazard draws a look & Tonyan finds a nice little piece of space.
