HMCS TRENTONIAN Ensign found!

Last night I had a wonderful call from Sue Jules about her father John (Jack) Harold's ensign. Jack joined the RCNVR and served in TRENTONIAN as a Signalman, joining the corvette shortly after commissioning in Kingston & remained with his (1/4)
(2/4) ship during North Atlantic convoys, D-Day operations and the unfortunate Friendly Fire Incident with USS PLUNKETT.

TRENTONIAN's skipper, Lt. Bill Harrison recognized Jack's skill and leadership and recommended him for officers training. When Jack (photo) left TRENTONIAN
(3/4) on 1 Sept. 1944 to attend King's College (now Dalhousie) in Halifax, his shipmates presented him with TRENTONIAN's ensign.

Jack finished the war as a Sub-Lieutenant and continued his service postwar with the Royal Canadian Navy Reserves.
(4/4) TRENTONIAN was torpedoed in the English Channel on 22 February 1945 and was the last corvette to be lost in action during the Second World War. This ensign is likely the only artifact from this historic Royal Canadian Navy corvette!
