Labour’s broad church is a discredited principle if it rests upon accommodating racists & their apologists purely because they say they’re good socialists. Does being an unrepentant racist or an unrepentant apologist for racism not matter as long as you say you’re “the left”?

What does being a socialist or “the left” even mean if it involves being actively involved in promoting racist ideas or denying the existence of those racist ideas? Whatever it is there’s no moral good in it. A talking shop for the morally weak & intellectually arrogant.

Maybe Labour got away with brushing these people under the carpet for decades but the carpet has been pulled right back & everyone can see the dirt they’ve been pretending wasn’t there. “This is the way we’ve always done it” doesn’t cut it anymore. It’s morally unjustifiable.

Those who did everything they could to deny Jewish people justice & who are yet to experience epiphanies on the harm they have done & issue heartfelt apologies shouldn’t have a place in a political party which is serious about standing for anything decent.
