I've had several people reach out about ShipStation logistics help, so I'm going to create a thread of helpful info to streamline the shipping process using these 2 documents:
I'll preface this by saying, each store is different and can be automated in different ways. If you're a store with MANY sku's and infinite combinations of products ordered... this may be for you. Stores with 5 or less sku's can approach this another, even faster way.
First, you're going to want to set up your SKU's in shopify/your warehouse in a way that is very quick to pick/pack. Here's an example of ours

S-09-2
S = Short Sleeve side of the warehouse
09 = the shirt style (they're in order on the shelves)
2 = the size (medium)
Next is the packing slip. This slip is helpful for big orders, and there's a few ways you can customize it in SS

- Move the qty and sku's to the left
- Add the "scan to ship" barcode at the bottom.

This allows you to print 100's, pick them, and then scan to pull it up again
Barcode scanners are like $20 on amazon, and literally plug into your computer. No software needed. If you scan that barcode, the order will pull up with no additional customization needed.

If your weights are correct, you can just hit the quick ship button and make the label
The other document is the shipping label itself. Many people don't know this, but you can add 3 custom dynamic lines to the bottom of them

We use:
1) The order #
2) The product qty+sku's in the order
3) A branded message
If your order is 1 item, we skip the packing slip step altogether.

We create & print of the labels in batches (the weight is always correct because it's just 1 item)

We can then pick and pack the order easily because the SKU is on the label! Also, the order # is there if needed
There's plenty of ways to add automation in Shipstation so these documents are ready to go

i.e.: When an order is imported & over 1lb, select priority mail.
Under 1lb, select first class mail.

That way you can generate the labels with NO added clicks
Hopefully this was helpful. If you have any more questions on Shipstation or logistics, I am happy to try and answer. I've used ShipStation for 5+ years and feel like I know the ins and outs to most questions

Time to get shipping!!
Oh one thing I forgot to add!! Make sure internal and customer notes are printed on the label - it allows you to easily catch customer service changes
