Just because Carson Wentz was given a big contract that doesn’t mean he should just always feel comfortable with this situation.

The Eagles have failed him in every aspect other than giving him money. It’s embarrassing.
1. Now this isn’t exactly on the Eagles, but when they won the Super Bowl... Carson Wentz got minimal credit. He led the Eagles to the one seed. He got the team home field advantage. He was going to win MVP.
2. After the team won, the team allows Bud Light to put a statue up of Nick Foles calling Philly Philly. Was it an electric play? Absolutely. Did there need to be a statue outside the stadium? No way. If I’m Carson I don’t really care, but things do add up eventually.
3. Carson rushes back to play early in the 2018 season. Something that shouldn’t have happened. In his return he plays well but the defense blows the game. Carson Wentz would then play the 2018 season with a broken back....
.... the main reason Carson wanted to play through it is simple. He wanted to prove everyone wrong. Do you blame him? No, you shouldn’t. Fans then begin to call him injury prone. Things add up.
4. Nick Foles plays well at times and brings the Eagles a drop away basically to an NFC Championship appearance. Fans then call for Foles to be back and Carson to be traded because of the injuries and the way he looked in 2018 was just okay.
5. The Eagles let Nick Foles walk. Fans are upset, but some for the most part understand. To help out Carson the trade up for Andre Dillard, draft Miles Sanders and JJ Arcega-Whiteside...
....the Eagles however keep Mike Groh at offensive coordinator. A guy who didn’t seem to fit Carson Wentz’s style.
In January, Philly Voice does a piece with a source in the Eagles building that calls Carson Wentz a “selfish” player who is “playing favorites.”

Small things...
6. JJ Arcega-Whiteside turns out to flop with stars in the making receivers picked after.
7. A big one. An anonymous source problem again except in season. A player on the Eagles calls out Carson Wentz for not hitting check-downs. At the time Carson Wentz playing fine, and definitely wasn’t the problem for the mediocre start to the season.
8. After not adding appropriate talent to the team Carson Wentz helps the Eagles win all games in December to win the division and host a playoff game.
9. Carson Wentz takes a cheap shot from Jadeveon Clowney which knocks Wentz out of the game in the first quarter. No Eagles player takes a cheap shot for Wentz in retaliation. Something I thought was weird watching live.
10. After failing to acquire talent to the offense other than Miles Sanders, the Eagles announce they want to build around Carson Wentz with speed and guys that want to play.
11. The Eagles select Jalen Reagor in the first round, passing on other receivers that seemed to be a better fit for Carson Wentz.
12. The Eagles draft Jalen Hurts in the second round. A quarterback. A heisman finalist.

Bigger things...
13. The Eagles also add Marquise Goodwin, John Hightower and Quez Watkins in the draft.
14. The Eagles hire two previous offensive coordinators who were fired the year prior. The Eagles promote Press Taylor. A guy Carson Wentz calls a friend... when he’s supposed to be a coach.
15. Goodwin opts out of the season. Reagor gets hurt. The offense fails to call plays that are to Wentz’s strength.
16. The Eagles begin to play Jalen Hurts here and there to help out a struggling offense. Not a big deal.
17. Carson Wentz really struggles with teams taking away Ertz in the passing game and other receivers failing to get open and when they do Carson seems to miss. Ertz gets hurt.
18. The Eagles are on their 10th different offensive line combo through week 12.
19. Carson Wentz is on pace to be sacked the fourth most in NFL history. And if there was a stat I’d say that he is on pace to be hit the third or more most times.
20. Other receivers picked after Jalen Reagor are making play after play, while Reagor is used to get targeted on jump balls on third down.
21. Someone in the Eagles building leaks that Jalen Hurts is getting more first team reps. Doug Pederson says that the reps are the same. Small things...
22. Rumors get leaked that the owner of the team gives the okay to put in Jalen Hurts if Carson Wentz struggles. Something that isn’t that big of shock, but not something that should be coming from the owner of the team. Small things...
Carson Wentz has been bad. He misses throws that he should make. He takes sacks at times that he shouldn’t take. He makes throws that franchise quarterbacks shouldn’t make.

He’s playing hesitant. He’s playing like someone is looking over his shoulder. He doesn’t have confidence.
And I don’t blame him, do you? What have the Eagles done to show him confidence?

If you say a contract, you haven’t seen the way the NFL is. Contracts mean nothing in the NFL. And money has never been the problem solver of issues.
