Liverpool once lost five nil against Huddersfield, that was when Shankly was Huddersfield manager. He resigned from Huddersfield stating a lack of ambition from the club. . when Liverpool manager Phil Taylor resigned from his position the Liverpool board knew Shankly was the man.
Shankly was delighted when LFC approached him, he saw the potential in LFC and accepted the offer. He famously said my idea to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in.
Rebuild-
"After only one match I knew that the team as a whole was not good enough. I made up my mind that we needed strengthening through the middle, a goalkeeper and a centre half who between them could stop goals, and somebody up front to create goals and score them"

Shankly faced problems with the Liverpool board of directors because they would not shell out money on players. Then a man called Eric Sawyer as arrived as Liverpool's finance director, he backed Shankly's decisions for the club and persuaded the club to do the same.
Shankly released 18 players in 24 months because he felt LFC was overloaded with players below the required standard. He brought in CF roger hunt and then Ian St john came in to partner Hunt and then winger Ian Callaghan who made the most appearances for LFC and Legendary Yeats.
Shankly had built Liverpool FC into a strong side, and his rise with the club was rapid, Liverpool won the promotion in 1961/62 and won the league title seasons later and retained it the next season, winning their next league title in 1972/73.
Liverpool had not won the FA cup in 73 years but in 1965 under Shankly they won it. Liverpool Football Club faced Leeds United in the final, and Liverpool won the FA cup after a winner from Ian St John.
Shankly improved the club in every aspect, even the identity. He introduced the all red kit, he instilled the THIS IS ANFIELD sign in the players tunnel “it’s there to remind our lads who they’re playing for and to remind the opposition who they’re playing against.” -Shankly
Shankly role in Melwood and Anfield-
Shankly insisted the club spend money on improving Anfield. The place was in shambles and when Shankly asked the groundsman about his watering equipment, the reply came: "We don't have equipment, because there is no water."

Shankly then insisted the club to shell out money for the watering equipment in Anfield but that was not enough. There was a Kemlyn Stand, was demolished after his side won promotion to the top flight at the end of the 1961-62 season.
A Cantilever stand was built in the place of the Kemlyn stand, which retained the name of its predecessor. After that his plan was to pull down the stand on Anfield Road and construct a brick terrace to replace the stand. Shankly also wanted to expand the main stand.
The new main stand was finally established in 1973, which included seats, a proper TV equipment supporting platfrom and better facilities for the players. He also got rid of the gym, which instead was instilled in Melwood.
Shankly was ahead of his time, he wanted a rebuild of Melwood. The new Melwood after the rebuild had changing facilities installed for the Liverpool players. Shankly added in a gymnasium and a sauna as i told you he got rid of the Gym in the main stand.
"The 45 minutes between the end of training and arriving back at Anfield was just right. If you have a hot bath when you're perspiring, you perspire all day."Our system prevented the players from catching colds and it also made sure that they were not strangers to the home ground
Shankly was a revolutionary ahead of his time, during a time when making players run errands until they passed out was the norm, Shankly opted to order fitness work be done with a ball at the foot of his players.
He created a new standard which came to be known as "The Liverpool Way" Small-sided games, proper warm-up and cool-down periods, periodised technical workouts, circuit training and segmentation practices. This was a huge reason behind Liverpools successes, the Shankly system.
I will end this thread by stating Shankly was a mentality monster, when a Liverpool player was injured, here is some of his quotes which i will end this thread with.
Quote-1.
“A lot of football success is in the mind. You must believe you are the best and then make sure that you are. In my time at Anfield we always said we had the best two teams on Merseyside, Liverpool and Liverpool reserves.”-Shankly

Quote-2
“For a player to be good enough to play for Liverpool, he must be prepared to run through a brick wall for me then come out fighting the other side.” -Shankly

Quote-3
Pressure is working down the pit. Pressure is having no work at all. Pressure is trying to escape relegation on 50 shillings a week. Pressure is not the European Cup or the Championship or the Cup Final. That’s the reward.” -Shankly

Quote-4 on injured Liverpool player Tommy Smith.
“Take that bandage off! And what do you mean your knee? It’s Liverpool’s knee!

These are just some of the quotes that reflect his mentality. Thank you for reading, Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic.
