This is so sad.
Lord Kerr was UK’s longest-serving supreme court justice & ad hoc ECtHR judge.
He was a real friend of human rights. Always speaking out for rule of law and the need for independent judiciary. He will be missed.

There is lots that Lord Kerr wrote and said that we (and the govt!) can learn from. This defence of the HRA is from just a few weeks ago.
“It’s parliament which has said to judges, ‘Please look at this law and tell us if it’s compatible with the ECHR.’” https://www.theguardian.com/law/2020/oct/19/uk-needs-judges-to-limit-government-power-says-lord-kerr

A @JUSTICEhq interview with Lord Kerr, giving an idea of his real sense of duty, and his sincere dedication to human rights.
