1) I didn’t suggest that exercise doesn’t help mental health. I just don’t believe it’s the cure for mental health.

2) Mental health goes far beyond
2/ depression and anxiety.

3) We are flooded on Instagram daily about #selfcare that it has become nearly a bad thing to turn to western medicine as a treatment for any kind of illness.

4) What you find essential for your mental health is something that someone else may not
3/ find essential for theirs.

Can we have a national conversation about the absolute state of the mental health services in Ireland. We are in a country where mental health services are overly relying on charities. It goes far beyond not having the gym for a few weeks.
4/ And no I’m not being dismissive of mental health concerns. I just don’t believe a gym will deal with the underlying issue of your mental health issues just as a 30 minute trip to the salon to have your nails done will either.

We are living in the world of #selfhelp
5/ & #selflove that it has nearly become generic.
